TANK
I was nervous, and I didnât get fucking nervous. Walking her to her car on Sunday afternoon pissed me off because we hadnât discussed anything. I had no idea what was in her head or if sheâd made a decision, and she wasnât offering that information.
Weâd spent all day Saturday and most of the night with Bear and Josie. We didnât roll in until about one in the morning, and we barely made it to my room before we were all over each other. I couldnât seem to stop myself, and neither could she. It was almost as if now that we had a taste, we craved each other.
When I woke up this morning to her rolling on top of me and sliding my cock into her heat, Iâd wrapped my arms around her as tight as I could. We held on to each other, and she moved her body with an intensity she hadnât the other times. It was like she was trying to memorize each stroke, each slide of our hands over naked skin, and the longer she stared into my eyes, the faster my heart pounded. She was amazing, and she had no ideaâno matter how many times I whispered it in her ear throughout the weekend.
Standing beside her vehicle, she opened the back door, and I set her bags inside. She closed it softly and rolled her lips together. I waited, knowing patience always won out when it came to Jane.
âThank you for this weekend.â
âYou have fun?â
She smiled. âYeah. I had more fun than Iâve had in a long time, maybe ever.â She hesitated before continuing. âDid you have fun?â
I nodded slowly. âHavenât had a weekend off in a long time.â
Her smile faded a little. âWell then it was good you had an excuse to take a break.â
We were making small talk, and that wasnât us. Obviously, we were both avoiding the conversation we needed to have, and I wasnât doing that anymore. I needed to know where her head was.
Even if I didnât like the answer.
âYou done living this way?â
She tilted her head. âI donât understand what youâre asking.â
I shoved my hands in my pockets. âYouâve been living with one foot in my world and one foot in your parentsâ. Never made a decision about where you belonged. This weekend help you figure that out?â
She watched me closely for a moment, and my stomach sank. I knew what she was going to say before the words spilled from her lips. âIâm going home.â
Dropping my head, I pulled my hand from my pocket and ran it along the back of my neck. âSo thatâs it, huh? Youâre going through with it?â
She nodded slowly. âI think itâs whatâs best for me.â
I snorted. âYou got nothing from this weekend but that shit?â
âThis weekend was amazing.â She inhaled deeply. âBut it was temporary. Itâs not real. Itâs not what life is every day. Itâs like going on vacation and having the time of your life, but at the end, you have to go home.
